Arts Luncheon Draws Key Congressional Leaders

Americans for the Arts and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) hosted a luncheon on Arts Advocacy Day for congressional leaders where they discussed the arts and how Congress could better support cultural initiatives and arts-friendly policies. The luncheon was attended by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), along with Interior Subcommittee Chairman Norm Dicks (D-WA), Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey (D-WI), Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), and a dozen other congressional leaders—all of whom committed to advancing funding for the arts and arts education.
