WHAT’S NEW

Complimentary Registration is Open for the 2014 AADR/ADEA Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill
The 2014 AADR/ADEA Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill will take place on April 8, 2014, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The program will begin in the Rayburn House Office Building Gold Room (#2168).

This year Congress implemented devastating cuts known as sequestration and shutdown the federal government for 16 days, which had a significant impact on biomedical research, institutions and scientists. Today, the need for enhanced advocacy on behalf of biomedical research is needed. The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013 currently under consideration by Congress only reduces a portion or 28% of sequestration cuts and future funding levels for the National Institutes of Health need to be determined by Congress.

Your participation in the AADR/ADEA 2014 Advocacy Day is necessary to amplify the message to Congress that cutting federal funding is harmful and sustained investments in biomedical research are needed for the health of the public.

The program will include a morning key issues briefing with Members of Congress and staff from select Federal agencies, and an afternoon of individual meetings with Congressional offices. Registration is complimentary! To register, email your RSVP to AADR Director of Government Affairs Carolyn Mullen at cmullen@aadronline.org.
