Donate to Research

Dental research created a profession. In the early decades of the last century, investments in dental research moved a trade to a profession. From the fluoridation of public water supplies – a crowning public health achievement of the 20th Century – to high-speed handpieces, dental composites and ceramic restorations, periodontal diagnostics and therapeutics, and more biologic approaches to replacing lost tissues, it was the investments in dental research that defined us as a profession.

Nominations for AADR Vice President, AADR Treasurer and AADR Representative to the IADR/AADR Publications Committee

AADR is accepting nominations for AADR Vice President, AADR Treasurer and AADR Representative to the IADR/AADR Publications Committee. Any AADR member may nominate individuals. The deadline to submit names of potential candidates has been extended until August 29, 2014

Can You Serve on a Committee?

Committees are the backbone of IADR and AADR, and each year the Associations seek a wide variety of volunteers, representing as many geographic areas and scientific disciplines as possible, to fill committee vacancies. Information on available committee vacancies for the upcoming year, descriptions of committee duties, and instructions on how to submit your candidacy for a committee appointment is listed below.

AADR Supports the Accelerating Biomedical Research Act

Last month, AADR sent a letter in support of the Accelerating Biomedical Research Act (S. 2658). Sponsored by Senator Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, this legislation creates a mechanism by which predictable, increased and sustainable funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) may be possible. AADR applauds this bill as an innovative approach to address the declining purchasing power of NIH and to prevent the further erosion of promising research.

NIDCR Strategic Plan Released

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) has released its 2014-2019 Strategic Plan.
