AADR/CADR Annual Meeting Details

The 45th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) took place March 16-19, 2016, in Los Angeles, Calif., USA. This meeting was held in conjunction with the 40th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research and was attended by 3,062  people from 44 countries.

Jack Ferracane is Installed as the 45th AADR President

AADR Donor Update

At the meeting, AADR then-President Paul Krebsbach informed attendees that AADR continues its Endowment Fund Matching Campaign of up to $1 million dollars. He reminded attendees that they could help to advance AADR’s current initiatives and endowments with a donation.

IADR/AADR Publish Inaugural Issue of JDR Clinical & Translational Research

The JDR Clinical & Translational Research was launched on March 16 during the AADR/CADR Annual Meeting. This new journal is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing original dental, oral and craniofacial research at the interface between discovery science and clinical application. Under the editorship of Jocelyne Feine, McGill University Faculty of Dentistry, Montréal, QC, Canada, JDR Clinical & Translational Research emphasizes translation of research into healthcare delivery systems at the individual patient, clinical practice, and community levels.

2016 Awards, Fellowships and Grants Recipients

AADR National Student Research Group

At the AADR Annual Meeting, the AADR National Student Research Group (NSRG) provided valuable opportunities for students to network with other researchers and learn more about IADR/AADR. There were symposia geared toward students including one titled “Preparing for an Academic Life After Training” that NSRG co- sponsored with the IADR Student Training and Research Network and the Women in Science Network.

Call for Nominations

Any AADR member may nominate individuals for AADR Vice President or AADR Representative to the IADR/AADR Publications Committee. Names of potential candidates must be received by August 5, 2016.

Can You Serve on a Committee?

Committees are the backbone of the IADR and AADR, and each year the Associations seek a wide variety of volunteers, representing as many geographic areas and scientific disciplines as possible, to fill committee vacancies. Information on available committee vacancies for the upcoming year, descriptions of committee duties, and instructions on how to submit your candidacy for a committee appointment is listed here.

Continuing Education Credits and Attendance Certificate

The International Association for Dental Research is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

The 46th Annual Meeting of the AADR will be held with the 95th General Session & Exhibition of the IADR and the 41st Annual Meeting of the CADR March 22-25, 2017. This meeting will take place in San Francisco, Calif., USA. Please visit the AADR website later this summer for more information and details about this meeting.
