President’s Message - Healthcare in Alaska and Our Fall Conference

I hope all of you are enjoying the summer across Alaska and have taken (or plan to take) some time off to get away from the daily rigors of the healthcare demands facing us all. Here are some of the happenings this quarter:

September 2, 2011: ACHE Regent Elections: ACHE is soliciting interest from qualified members to run for Regent. Please see Official Notice for the 2011-2012 Regent Elections for more information. Deadline to submit a letter of intent is September 2, 2011.

September 6-9: We’ve sent out reminders for the upcoming AHEN meeting held in connection with the ASHNHA conference. We do hope to see you in Ketchikan. Our Category I education on September 6 and the morning of the 7th is: “From Roots to Wings: 12 Variables for Sustaining Organizational Success,” presented by Tom A. Atchison, EdD. Contact Vivian Echavarria at or Vic Rosenbaum at NOTE: Class limit is 40.
Following the educational forum on Tuesday, September 6, AHEN will hold its Chapter meeting and Dinner at 6:00 p.m.

November 2011: Initial planning in the works for a Category II educational offering to be offered in the month of November. Stay tuned for particulars.

I really hope to see a lot of you at the September forum in Ketchikan. Please join your colleagues for an educational forum, as well as, a great opportunity to network.

All the best!
Vic Rosenbaum
