President's Message, 4th Qtr, 2011
Vic Rosenbaum, FACHE, AHEN President

The end of 2011 is almost here, but not without some interesting weather across the state. This winter is truly shaping up to be a wild ride! Not unlike the climate in our great state - the healthcare environment  can be unpredictable at times. This uncertainty often drives us toward collaboration and partnership to ensure the very best services for all Alaska beneficiaries. I'd like to extend my thanks to the individuals I've worked with across our healthcare systems, and I offer my gratitude to the nearly 100 AHEN members across the state who provide healthcare leadership in a challenging, dynamic healthcare arena everyday.

2012 STRATEGIC DIRECTION: In 2012, AHEN will concentrate on three major goals: 1) providing educational opportunities; 2) enhancing membership development & advancement efforts; and 3) improving Chapter Communications. For #1 - education - plan to offer three Category II and one Category I (face-to-face) offerings in 2012. Additionally, we plan to facilitate bi-monthly lunch & learns on articles of interest. NOTE: There Will be an ACHE Cluster Event in Anchorage, August 2012. For #2 - membership -concentrate on initiatives to stimulate regional educational & networking activities. For #3 - communication, Improve/Enhance the chapter newsletter & website.

REQUEST: To all AHEN members - please update your information at the ACHE website. The AHEN membership roster is created from a "pull" list from ACHE. We recently sent out a "bare-bones" membership roster (first time) to all members as a test - some folks commented back that their information was incorrect. To rectify, please change your info at: ACHE - See "My ACHE" tab at the top of the page.

Happy Holidays!

All the best!
Vic Rosenbaum
