Message from Your Board Chair

Dear Fellow Canadian Chapter Members,

It is a true privilege to take on the role of chair of the board of the Canadian chapter of ACHE and to have the opportunity to serve our membership in this role. I have been a member of ACHE since 1998 and a Fellow since 2007. It is my vision that through the continued hard work of our board and committees, that we will expand the outstanding education we provide as a chapter and to grow our strong peer network.

I am passionate about authentic engagement and it is important to me that all members who want to have a personal role in growing our chapter have an opportunity to do so. In addition to the work of the board and our standing committees, we have other opportunities for involvement that may be more suited to your interests and time, such as short-lived task teams for planning individual events.

As we get started on our work as a board this year, I want to thank my fellow board members for their commitment and time in service to our chapter. Todd Stepanuik, Vice Chair, Paula Neves, Secretary, Leslie Benecki, Treasurer, Glenn Gale, Director for PEI/NB/NS/NFLD & Labrador, and David Matear, Director for BC, along with Danielle Swerhone, Regent for Canada and Marcy Saxe-Braithwaite, immediate past-chair will be working together with me to ensure value for your membership dollars. We have much work to do, and we are up to the challenge.

Over the past year, we had a successful grassroots strategic plan refresh, with the direct input of our members and fellows – some who had just joined ACHE and some who have spent their leadership careers growing with ACHE. It is my hope that in the coming year, we will connect personally with more of our affiliates – to hear what you value, to know where we are doing well, how we can continue to improve to serve you better, and what makes ACHE relevant for you. If you are interested in any of these opportunities highlighted above, or want to provide your feedback or suggestions, please email me at froesch@gmail.com. This is a standing invitation to all of our members.

Frances C. Roesch, M.H.A., FACHE, is Executive Director at Queen Square Doctors, a large family practice group in Brampton, Ontario.
