Message from the President - Summer 2012

Summer is here already and it’s hard to believe we are half way through the year. The Central Florida Chapter capped the Spring with a well terrific and well received Category I program, Reinventing Customer Service in Healthcare: Lessons learned from the Best, graciously hosted by Health Central. Many thanks to our speaker and panelists Chris Caracci, Custom Solutions Manager, Disney Institute, Tim Burrill, VP Support Services and Construction, Florida Hospital, and Greg Ohe, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer, Health Central. Thanks also to Dewayne Pace, Chapter Program Chair and President Elect, for organizing such a great event. It was a pleasure seeing everyone.

As you look to plan out the remainder of your year, save the date for our next Central Florida chapter programs:

  1. August 21st, Tuesday, 5:45 pm – 8:15 pm –Career Positioning: Strategically Mapping Your Early Career Development, Location: Nemours, Medical City.
  2. September 18th Tuesday 5:45 pm – 8:15 pm – Sustaining a Financially Vibrant Healthcare Organization, Location: Florida Hospital Orlando - Ginsburg Tower.
  3. November 6th, Tuesday 5:45 pm – 8:15 pm – The Healthcare Executive’s Role in IT decisions (HIE) Location (TBD).

Also, this fall, we will have our annual Fellow Advancement program to assist you in preparing for the Governor’s Exam. This is always a terrific opportunity to learn from other Central Florida Fellows how to best study and advance to Fellow status. Please look for more information about the advancement program in the coming weeks.

Have a safe and productive summer and don’t forget to mark your calendars now for our upcoming educational programs. Look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you for all you do for our profession.

Sincerely,

Janis Moysey

2012 President
