President Message - Q1-2018

This is our first quarterly newsletter of the year and I want to impart what a pleasure it has been so far serving as your Chapter President in 2018!  The year started off with our board officers and directors being sworn in on January 20th at our 3rd Annual ACHECF Gala and Awards Presentation.  The event was a huge success, held at the Renaissance Orlando at Sea World.  About 200 Healthcare executives and their guests attended what was truly an elegant evening of hobnobbing and celebration.  Our theme was “Healthcare through the Decades” where we journeyed through Central Florida’s historic healthcare achievements.  We also delighted in laughs with the talented and entertaining healthcare comedian David Glickman.  This event was possible due to the generous sponsorships of our Gala and Titanium Premier Corporate Partners:  Florida Hospital and Orlando Health.

Congratulations to all of the evening’s award winners.

This year our chapter is hard at work to deliver over 20 educational and 3 networking events.  In fact, our first networking event will be at Topgolf Orlando on May 30th. This is how our chapter provides value to our members.  As you may know, leadership continuing education credits are required for fellowship advancement or recertification.  Our programs Committee led by Vic Rosenbaum, FACHE, has selected a relevant assortment of topics for the year.  See our upcoming events and register here:  2018 Programs

Lastly, ACHE of Central Florida was once again nationally recognized at the 2018 Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago on March 27th, 2018. ACHECF received the Award for Chapter of Merit and Award for Chapter of Sustained Performance.  Congratulations to the 2017 Board of Directors, Committee Members and Volunteers for all of their work in carrying on our chapter’s tradition of excellence.

Best,

Donny P. Abraham, RN, FACHE
