President Message - Q2-2018

Greetings Healthcare Executives,

This is the end of our second quarter and what a year it has been! As president, I am proud to serve among this active group of volunteer healthcare leaders.

Many relevant and interesting programs have been delivered in the first six months by the programs committee, led by Vic Rosenbaum, FACHE. The topics include: Exploring the VA Healthcare System, Project Cost Modeling, Cybersecurity, Equity of Care, Financial Implications: The Push from Inpatient to Outpatient, Lean Six Sigma Shingo Conference, Post-Acute Care, Patient-Centered Medical Home, Mult-Generational Workforce.

Register for any of our upcoming events at http://centralfl.ache.org/events/

On May 30 we had a fantastic turnout at our Topgolf Orlando Networking Social. About 60 healthcare executives played golf and built lasting professional relationships. A memorable time was had by all!

ACHE of Central Florida was once again recognized at Congress by ACHE with National Awards for Chapter of Merit and Chapter of Sustained Performance. I had the privilege this year of attending my first congress, along with Past President Rick Smith, FACHE who accepted the awards on our chapter’s behalf.

We included some value-added programs to our events calendar mid-year:

·         July 25-27 38th Annual UAB National Symposium for Healthcare Executives Destin, FL

o   Earn 9 hours of Face-to-Face Credits at this event, on this beachfront property!

·         August 16 Senior Executive Forum: Current Trends in Central Florida Healthcare Market

o   Exclusive Event for Senior Executives (AVP-CEOs)

·         August 30 and 31 Board of Governors Exam Review

o   If you or any of your colleagues are board-eligible, encourage them to advance and earn their FACHE credential

·         November 8 Women in Healthcare Leadership Symposium-

o   Breakfast Event, Location, and Details to be determined.

Lastly, I would encourage you to mark your calendars for our Florida Hospital Association/ACHE Annual Business Meeting and Awards Dinner on October 3 2018 7pm. This is where all 4 Florida ACHE Chapters gather with our leadership to network and celebrate our achievements.  It will be held during the FHA Annual Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.
