President Message - Q1-2019

Welcome to 2019! This is our first quarterly newsletter of the year, and I want to let you know that your Chapter is “already out of the gate, and rounding the first turn” on planning fun, engaging events for the year. We started off the year with our 4th Annual Gala and Awards Presentation on January 19 at the Rosen Creek Shingle Resort. At the event, we formally recognized the new 2019 board officers and directors. Approximately 170 Healthcare executives and their guests attended the event and enjoyed an elegant evening of conversation, great food, and recognition of a number of stellar leaders in central Florida. Our theme was “Strength in Diversity” where we highlighted the significance of diversity in the healthcare environment. We were stimulated by the words of our keynote speaker Kevin O’Connor on the power of having diversity in an organization, and inspired by Kevin’s interview with Col Gigi Simko (Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award recipient) highlighting key aspects of her life and career as a military healthcare leader. The Gala was a great success due to the hard work of the Gala Committee and made possible by the generous sponsorship of our Gala and Titanium Premier Corporate Partners:  AdventHealth and Orlando Health. Congratulations to all award winners.

Neil Mangus, Programs Chair, and “pit crew” are navigating the curriculum course to deliver over 24 educational and 3 networking events this year. Through quality continuing education and networking opportunities, we demonstrate value to our members.  Look for upcoming events and register at: 2019 Events

Finally, ACHE of Central Florida was again nationally recognized at the 2019 Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago during the first week of March. ACHECF earned the Award of Chapter Distinction – an awesome accomplishment! Congratulations to the entire team: 2018 Board of Directors, Committee Members, and Volunteers for “making things happen” and sustaining the chapter’s tradition of excellence.
