President Message - Q4-2019

Fellow Central Florida Healthcare Leaders,

We have concluded another successful year for the American College of Healthcare Executives Central Florida (ACHECF) Chapter.

With the start of a new year, I’d like to thank you all for the opportunity to serve as your chapter president in 2019.  I’d also like to thank the multi-talented volunteers who stepped up to leadership roles on the chapter Board and with their time and energy made the successes of this past year a reality.  Our chapter has continued its tradition of sustained performance – here are a few accomplishments from 2019:

·     Exceeded our goal for total networking/ educational programming hours per chapter member with 25 programs in our region.

·    Grew our membership by 8.4% in 2019, adding 55 members.

In Q4 2019 our Programs Committee, led by Neil Mangus, FACHE, delivered exceptional educational events locally. Topics included:  The Certificate of Need Repeal in Florida, The Healthcare Executive’s Role with the Opioid Crisis, and the 2nd Annual Women in Healthcare Leadership Symposium. The latter even was our highest attended event of all-time with over 334 healthcare leaders!

On Oct 23rd, we had our Annual FHA / ACHE business meeting and dinner in conjunction with the Florida Hospital Association annual meeting. Our Regent, Ashley Vertuno presented awards to several of our Chapter’s leaders for Recognition of their service.  Those recognized were Neil Mangus, FACHE from AdventHealth for the Early Careerist award and Dan Honerbrink, FACHE from Orlando Health for the Senior Careerist award. Congratulations to these deserving leaders!

Gala:  In 2020 we start our year off “rockin” on Jan 18 at our 5th Annual Gala and Awards Dinner at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort at 9939 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819. Our theme this year is “The Vision of Tomorrow.”  Join us for an evening of networking, recognition and inspiration! Tickets are on sale now at
www.Centralfl.ache.org/events

Call for Award Nominations: There are 5 awards presented at the Gala: Distinguished FACHE Service Award, Gift of Life Champion, Diversity and Inclusion, President’s Award and Innovation Award. Three of these awards are handled though a nominations process from our members.  Submit your colleague or organization here: https://ucf.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3kmvK3w826mLcZT
