President Message - Q4-2018

Greetings Healthcare Leaders,

As we start a new year, I am thankful for many things. One of those is that I’ve had the honor to serve as your chapter president with a talented and committed board of directors and volunteers. ACHECF has a long-time tradition of sustained performance and this year has been no exception. Here are a few of our accomplishments from 2018:

·         Exceeded our goal for total networking/ educational programming hours per chapter member with 28 programs in our region.

·         Advanced over 10% of our members to Fellow status, which we will celebrate at our upcoming gala.

·         Ranked in the top 15th percentile for membership engagement according to our National ACHE Annual Member Satisfaction Survey.

·         Grew as a chapter and have added two local programs councils with our Volusia County and East Florida LPCs to help bring local educational opportunities to healthcare leaders in the perimeter of our region.

Exciting times for the fastest growing metro in the US!

In Q4 2018 our Programs Committee, led by Vic Rosenbaum, FACHE, delivered exceptional educational opportunities locally. Topics included the Opioid Epidemic and Its Effects on Healthcare, Mergers and Acquisitions and our 1st Annual Women in Healthcare Leadership Symposium. The latter even was our highest attended event of all-time with almost 300 healthcare leaders!

On Oct 3rd, we had our Annual FHA / ACHE business meeting and dinner in conjunction with the Florida Hospital Association annual meeting. Our Regent, Don Henderson presented awards to several of our Chapter’s leaders for Recognition of their service to the chapter. Those recognized were: Matt Abbene from Florida Hospital for the Early Careerist award and Vic Rosenbaum, FACHE from Orlando Health for the Senior Careerist award. Congratulations for these deserving leaders!

Gala:  In 2019 we start our year off with a bang on Jan 19 at our 4th Annual Gala and Awards Dinner at the extravagant Rosen Shingle Creek Resort at 9939 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819. Our theme this year is “Strength Through Diversity” featuring international foods and captivating Keynote Speaker Kevin O’Conner.  Join us for an evening of networking, recognition and inspiration! Tickets are on sale now, and for the first time ever, we have reduced pricing for your significant other.

Call for Award Nominations: There are 5 awards presented at the Gala: Distinguished FACHE Service Award, Gift of Life Champion, Diversity and Inclusion, President’s Award and Innovation Award. Three of these awards are handled though a nominations process from our members.  Submit your colleague or organization here:
