Rebate Checks Mailed in February; Minimum Chapter Dues Rebate Established

All 2012 Chapter Dues Rebate checks will be mailed to presidents in late February. Chapters will receive a 2012 Chapter Rebate Report enclosed with the rebate check, which illustrates the dues rebate computation for the ACHE affiliates in the chapter in accordance with the Dues Rebate Policy of the Chapter Agreement:

ACHE Dues Rebate Policy

ACHE shall provide the chapter with a 10 percent rebate of ACHE affiliate dues payments made by chapter members at the time of the rebate calculation.

Calculation of Dues Rebate Payments

Chapter rebates shall be paid as soon after January 31 of each year as practicable. The rebate due to chapters shall be calculated based on the ACHE dues payments of all ACHE affiliates who are members of the chapter on January 31 of each year. ACHE dues payments eligible for rebates shall include all payments for the current year dues received by ACHE as of January 31 and all payments for the prior year dues received by ACHE since January 31 of the prior year. During the Chapter Leaders Conference in September, the suggestion was made to consider a change to the method by which chapter rebates are determined and establish a minimum. Proponents of a change felt that the current rebates for the smallest chapters were too low to support the attendance of two chapter leaders at the conference.

ACHE conducted an analysis of the amounts paid in 2011 and determined that the lowest rebate paid was $650, and the next lowest was $1,547. A generous estimate of the cost for travel and lodging expenses for an individual to attend the Chapter Leaders Conference from a rural location is $1,500.  Beginning with the 2012 rebates, ACHE established a minimum rebate of $3,000 to encourage attendance by at least two chapter leaders at the Chapter Leaders Conference from each chapter.
