ACHE’s Email Service for Chapters to End: Easy-to-use Options Available

Currently, ACHE provides email services to chapters. When this service was developed six years ago, there were very few vendors available to distribute email broadcasts. Since then, several vendors began providing not only email broadcast services but also valuable benefits, including online event registration, member surveys, social media links, newsletter templates and reporting tools. These vendors provide products that are easy to use and reasonably priced. Many of the chapters who have contracted with a vendor appreciate the flexibility to distribute emails as often as needed without having to send a request through Regional Services. These vendors are able to provide 24/7 online support. As a result, ACHE will discontinue providing basic broadcast email service to chapters as of Dec. 31, 2012.

In the meantime, to assist chapters in choosing an email service ACHE has developed an online list of vendors, including their features, contact information and websites. Learn more about each option. One vendor, Real Magnet, will waive the $100 activation fee if a chapter signs up by Sept. 15, 2012.

After Dec. 31, 2012, chapters will still be able to access their membership roster and pre-defined and custom queries for targeted groups within a chapter. If you have any additional questions please contact your regional director or Sheila Brown, chapter specialist, at (312) 424-9316 or sbrown@ache.org. Feel free to ask about other chapters who are using Constant Contact and Eventbrite for sending electronic communications; they would be happy to share their experiences.
