News from the Education Committee |
Lieutenant Commander Robert Rawleigh, FACHE, Medical Service Corps, United States Navy |
The Chapter Education Committee is continuing to explore and establish ACHE Face-to-Face and ACHE Qualified Education program opportunities for members to earn education credits. As a reminder, our chapter and the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) will partner together for a collaborative panel discussion event on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:30 – 1 pm. The event will be held at the
Kapiolani
Medical
Center for Women and Children Auditorium and provide 1.5 ACHE Face-to-Face Education credits for ACHE members. Please see the e-mail notices sent out by our Chapter President, Ms. Martha Smith, FACHE for further details. In addition, the committee is also working on other credit bearing education events later in the year. Be on the look-out for program announcements.
Congratulations to Hui-I Chen, OTR, MPH, MHS (Director, Bone & Joint Service Line Hawaii Pacific Health) for earning a Chapter Education Assistance Program (CEAP) award. Hui-l will use her award to pursue becoming an ACHE Fellow. Also, CEAP continues to be offered to chapter members who are interested in a financial award to offset the costs associated with obtaining the FACHE credential. Awardees may use funds to pay for the FACHE application fee, Board of Governors (BOG) exam, text books and other exam study programs and materials. Feel free to contact me at rcdrawleigh@gmail.com for program specifics.
Finally, the Education Committee is pleased to report that VTC connectivity with the Guam Local Program Council has been worked out and we hope to exercise this capability during future education programs. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at our education and networking events.
Aloha,
Robert Rawleigh, FACHE
Chair, Education Committee
