ACHE 2017 Chapter Leaders Conference |
Micah Ewing, FACHE, President-Elect |
The 2017 ACHE Chapter Leaders Conference was held September 18-19 in Chicago and I was fortunate to be able to attend this event with Jen Chahanovich, our Regent.
The two-day event is meant to provide incoming presidents valuable on-boarding information and to align incoming presidents and Regents with the current mission, strategy and goals of the national ACHE organization as well as the global challenges in our healthcare industry.

Left to Right: Michele Sutton, CEO of North Oaks HS, Micah Ewing,
Marty Cahill, CEO of Samaritan Lebanon, and Jen Chahanovich, CEO of Wilcox Memorial
Not only was it a great opportunity to network with other chapter presidents and regents, it was a tremendous opportunity to share ideas and gain insight from other chapter leaders regarding the similar challenges and goals that we have. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to have access to the shared ideas and ways we can continue to grow as a chapter. Here are some highlights:
- ACHE has spent significant effort on upgrading and refreshing ACHE website functionality and databases, making functionality friendly to mobile devices, and upgrading chapter websites; good things are ahead.
- Strategies on Event Management and creative ways to provide Face-to-Face credit hours for our chapter
- Physician Executive Membership and Involvement. John Henson, MD, FACHE of the Georgia chapter presented on how to involve physician leaders in concert with the importance of global healthcare physician partnership.
- Strategy alignment with ACHE and global healthcare initiatives.
As your incoming president, I look forward to integrating these ideas and lessons learned into our chapter.
- Micah
