Postgraduate Fellowship Opportunities
Denise Della

For the past three months, Denise Della, ACHE Hawai’i - Pacific Chapter Student Representative, has been benefitting from the mentorship and guidance of Nick Hughey, ACHE Hawai’i Chapter President and Chief Operating Officer of the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Using an ACHE Postgraduate Fellowship format, Denise has been working at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center as a Clinical Operations Project Analyst. Denise works closely with Nick to enhance the quality, efficiency, and economic value for the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center by providing operational analysis and decision support.

Words from Denise Della about her experience:

“This postgraduate fellowship has been an invaluable professional experience after completing my Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. This fellowship has given me the opportunity to apply my academic knowledge acquired from graduate school to the real world of healthcare administration. Nick has been a wonderful mentor who has given me an opportunity to work independently on several projects while teaching me more about healthcare administration and leadership along the way.

I highly encourage students and early careerists to attend our ACHE networking events. These events have been valuable to my development as a rising healthcare leader. I am excited to continue working with Nick and the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.”

Starting a Postgraduate Fellowship
Are you an organization interested in starting an ACHE Postgraduate Fellowship in the Hawai’i Guam Chapter?
In addition to the professional fulfillment that comes from contributing to the development of future healthcare leaders, an ACHE Postgraduate Fellowship can bring in new talent with fresh ideas and can also serve as an organizational development strategy, providing the organization with a low-risk opportunity to evaluate the work of a potential staff member. ACHE provides a plethora of resources and tools needed to design a postgraduate fellowship.
