2017 Hawai'i Healthcare Leadership Conference |
On November 2nd-3rd, the Hawai'i-Pacific Chapter of ACHE participated in the 2017 Healthcare Leadership Conference, which was held at the beautiful Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki.
This conference is the result of immensely successful partnership with the local chapter of the American Organization of Nursing Executives (AONE). It provided a phenomenal opportunity for Hawai'i members of both organizations to receive in-person education credits without the costly travel expense. This is the third year in a row that this event has been available to Hawai'i Pacific Members.
Each year, ACHE members are able to register for the conference at a discounted "membership" rate (discounted student rates are also available). A new offering this year was a single-day registration option, which offered increased flexibility for attendees.
For members who attended the full 2-day event, a total of 8.0 Qualified Education Credits (QECs) and 1.5 Face-to-Face credits were available. The Face-to-Face credit offering was a panel titled "Diversity in Leadership: Leadership Perspective" (pictured below).

The panel was facilitated by our chapter regent, Jen Chahanovich. The panel participants included Richard Cordova (FACHE), Gary Kajiwara (FACHE, FACHCA, FAAMA), and Arthur Ushijima (MA).
Attendees were also offered seminars on the importance of self-care (featuring speakers Donna Hartly, Alison Inoye, and Gayle Hilgendorff) and team-building (featuring speaker Ka'ala Souza).
Several members of ACHE served as key coordinators for the event. Special thanks to Suzie So-Miyahara, Micah Ewing, and other representatives from our local education, membership, and communication committees who helped coordinate the silent auction, participated in the review of conference poster submissions, and aided with overall event planning.

Several members of the Hawai'i-Pacific Board leadership showed their support and attended in the conference.
We would like to thank you for a successful conference and we look forward to seeing you next year!
