Bobbie Ornellas, Immediate Past Chair, Education Committee

"For the Love of Healthcare Leadership"

On August 14, 2014 at the annual Hawaii-Pacific Chapter breakfast held at the Hawaii Prince Hotel in Honolulu, there was an educational presentation on “For the Love of Healthcare Leadership” presented by Ms Diana Smalley, FACHE, Regional President of Mercy in Oklahoma. Ms. Smalley is the immediate past chairman of ACHE.

On August 13, 2014 HST (August 14 GST) this presentation was offered to the Chapter Guam Council via VTC sponsored by Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. Her presentation was well-received by both audiences as she shared personal and professional insight into Healthcare Leadership and the need for executives to find themselves in a frame of mind where they are in love with what they do.

Each of the above programs is eligible for one (1) credit of ACHE Qualified Education Credits. Please be sure to document this in “My ACHE / Continuing education credits / Qualified Education Credits.”

Chapter Education Assistance Program (CEAP)

In 2013, the leadership of the Hawaii-Pacific Chapter presented a new program to the chapter membership entitled the Chapter Education Assistance Program (CEAP).  The purpose of the program is to encourage chapter members to pursue becoming board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow (FACHE).  Each chapter member (including student members) is eligible to seek a single CEAP financial award for one of the ACHE Board of Governors (BOG) exam related preparation courses, materials or feeds. The program documents have a new look created by Dr. Pagoria. Please take a few minutes to review the attached files for additional details of the unique opportunity offered through this program.
