Message from the IHEF President

by David McFadyen, FACHE

I enjoyed talking with many of you at the annual Idaho Hospital Association meetings in Sun Valley a few weeks ago. The IHEF Board of Education Committee has been focused on providing cost effective local education in the past few years. The partnership with the Idaho Hospital Association to bring the face-to-face credits to the June and October meetings has dramatically improved our ability to provide education to many members. For the first time IHEF partnered with the Idaho Hospital Association to award face-to-face credits at the breakout learning sessions. At the IHA Annual Conference, we were able to offer 4.5 Face-to-Face credits for members, which received an overall satisfaction score of 4.4 out of 5. What a great way for each of us as members to meet our face-to-face credit goals for certification. Members also were offered a chance to network at the annual luncheon and social hour event that was extremely well attended. One of the most exciting parts of the weekend and the events was observing the networking occurring between students, early, mid, and late career members. I think we all had the opportunity to learn from each other and make new connections.
