President's Message
Heather Fuller, FACHE

I hope that everyone had a great summer and got to enjoy some vacation time!  It seems like summer gets shorter every year.

As we head into fall (and hopefully some cooler temperatures), please plan to attend the annual KAHCE luncheon meeting and education on November 12 in Overland Park.  This year we are excited to be able to offer 4.5 hours of face to face credit. We will have three panels: “Building Healthcare Facilities of Tomorrow,” “Management and Prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections,” and “Risk Issues we face in our Daily Roles.”  Patricia Sanders-Hall and the education committee have done an outstanding job putting together the agenda for this program.  Of course, we will also have a networking reception immediately following the education sessions.  Students are encouraged to attend all of these events as always.

I mentioned in our last newsletter that the board was working to develop a statement on diversity and inclusion.  I’m happy to say that the statement has been completed and approved by the board.  The board and chapter have made a commitment to promote diversity and inclusion through activities such as annual education, articles, and partnerships with other organizations.  The entire document is posted on our website:

I would like to thank the Board and the committee members for all of their hard work and dedication to KAHCE.  As we plan for the future, please consider volunteering for one of our many committees. It’s a great way to get involved with the organization and meet new people.

I hope to see you all at the November 12 event!  As always, please feel free to contact me at with any suggestions or questions!
