President's Message
Bob Bregant, FACHE

Reflecting back on my Winter Newsletter comments, I am encouraged by the amount of engagement demonstrated by our Chapter members in 2015. Our chapter is only as strong as our membership participation, which has been great this year.

Our Spring Education event on April 30-May 1 was well attended with executives from throughout the state. Thanks to Patricia Sanders-Hall, Susan Cunningham and the members of the Education Committee for their effort in making the event a success. Participants received excellent information and the social aspect of the event offered nice networking opportunities.

Thanks also to everyone who participated in our Membership Survey soliciting volunteers for our chapter. Many of you stepped up to offer your time as mentors, committee members and to speak at our events. We will take you up on your offer to help in the near future.

For those members that seek advancement to fellow in the next year, I encourage you to take advantage of the upcoming Webinar series to help prepare you to take the Board of Governor’s Exam. This is the fourth consecutive year for this program, and over 25 Kansas Chapter members have participated. If you are eligible for advancement, you should have received an email announcement, or contact Susan Cunningham or I for more information. If you complete the course, KAHCE will reimburse you the $250 cost of your advancement application fee.

Our committees are busy working on 2015 objectives, including: upgrading the KAHCE website, planning an after hours networking event in Overland Park at the new Prairie Fire Museum of Natural History, and our Fall Educational Event in Wichita. Our Student Committee is also developing an event targeting students and early careerists at the Wichita meeting.

One last request, please encourage any colleagues or co-workers that are not members of ACHE to consider joining. We continue to need to support the growth of our organization. Also, our Nominating Committee will soon meet to consider a slate of officers and board nominees for 2016. If you are interested in serving, please let me know.

Thanks and have a great spring and summer.
