President's Message
Dave Engel, FACHE
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. As of this writing, a good share of the state has received some much needed moisture and cooler temperatures. We at times don’t realize how closely tied as healthcare leaders we may be to weather events. I have noticed a calm amongst my staff with the recent rain and temperature relief. On the other side of the spectrum, we must always be prepared and diligent for weather related disaster events. So far, Mother Nature has been kind to Kansans this year, relatively speaking.
Do you feel the excitement?
Just checking to see if you were reading! Actually it has been a tremendous year thus far. The spring category one educational event was very well attended. Rod Corn and the education committee provided superb presentations. The KCLPC will have provided the first joint Missouri and Kansas Chapter co-event on July 31st. I can just hear Patricia Sanders-Hall sharing her excitement with everyone.
Our membership committee with the fine leadership by Bob Bregant has been coaching some fine students and early-careerists. This committee had a great turn out for the Chapter’s first preparatory Board of Governor’s exam webinar series.
Before you know it, the KHA Annual Convention and Trade Show will be here. Be sure to mark your calendars and plan on attending your Chapter’s Annual meeting and educational offerings on Wednesday, November 13th.
Be safe, be well and have a great summer and fall. |
