We’re are just coming off our Fall Networking Event at
M & T Bank (RAVENS) Stadium. There
were over 65 mostly young careerists on hand to hear Diane Nicholas, search
consultant with NHS Solutions, talk about the ABCs of job search/career
advancement. We also got to tour the
RAVENs locker rooms and other places not normally open to the public. Special thanks to Board members – Christina
Farias, Operations Director and Guy Richardson, President-Elect for organizing
Terri Palazzo, Programming Director did a phenomenal
job at our annual ALL DAY educational session on October 19. We had four presentations about population
health that were all extraordinary. Terri and her committee did a huge amount of work preparing four panels
that presented and interacted with over 100 participants during the event.
honored Ron Peterson, retiring CEO of Johns Hopkins Health System at the All
Day event with a Regent’s Lifetime Service Award. We also awarded the Doug Shepherd Memorial Scholarships
Huguley, undergraduate at University of
Maryland University College and Nygel Williams, a graduate student at UM
MAHCE also was pleased to award community outreach grants

We have added four new board members to the Board for
the coming two years (2018-2019). Jan
van Londen will be the new Membership Chair. Vamsee or “V” Potluri will be the Community Outreach Director. Neel Pathak will be the new Secretary. Dr. Mark Bittle, Director of the Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health, MHA program will be our new Faculty liaison
for the various graduate and undergraduate programs in healthcare
administration or management in Maryland.
We are organizing an outreach educational event
collaborating with Meritus Health System of Hagerstown for Western Maryland and
surrounding regions in June. Watch for a
save-the-date announcement soon!
