Presidentís Message: Signing Off
Lidia P. Webb, RN, FACHE

As my term as President of the ACHE-North Florida Chapter draws down, I reflect back on what our chapter accomplished this past year. We presented numerous educational events totaling 12 Face-to-Face credits, the maximum allowed by ACHE, and 1 hour of Qualified credit meeting our goal of providing an economical, close-to-home option for members to earn credits needed for advancement or recertification.  Social events held in the Jacksonville and Pensacola area afforded members the opportunity to network in a relaxed setting.

This year heralded the chapter’s first official Call for Nominations and elections of Board members.  As a result, we garnered the addition of several highly qualified and experienced healthcare leaders to serve on the Board.  This will now be an annual event so if you are interested in serving your chapter, watch for the Call for Nominations coming in the next few months.

The Board met for its Strategic Planning Off-Site in October to produce an entirely new multi-year plan.  Goals and objective include improved communication to members, advancement assistance, expanded programming, and proactive management of resources.  Keeping in step with the new strategic plan, the four Local Program Councils in Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee and the Panhandle have coordinating event planning and have already projected a total of 24 Face-to-Face credits to be offered in 2017!

As 2016 comes to a close, I thank you all for affording me the privilege of serving as your President and now it is my pleasure to introduce President Elect Anthony A. Koffman, FACHE, who will step into my place effective January 1, 2017.  Anthony is the Administrator for the University of Florida Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology.  He has been a dedicated member of the ACHE-North Florida Board since 2010 serving as the Gainesville Local Program Council Director.  He has been instrumental in cultivating professional relationships among healthcare leaders in our region.  Anthony has been especially supporting of meeting the needs of our members, to include mentoring early careerists and student members.  Please welcome Anthony to his new role!
