|Message from the President|
Dear Chapter Members,
I am pleased to announce the ACHENJ has received a letter from Deborah Bowen, CEO of ACHE, recognizing ACHENJ as a Chapter of Merit. This award was earned because of countless hours of hard work from the members of the board, committee leaders, and the members who have served within those committees. I would like to thank everyone involved for all the efforts and dedication that made this award happen for our chapter. This award was earned by all of you.
ACHENJ held its first Meet & Greet of the year on Thursday March 15, 2018 at Hackensack University Medical Center. This sold out event brought together new members and students as well as Chapter leaders and offered a great networking opportunity for all who attended. We’d like to thank Hackensack Meridian Health for hosting this event. Be on the lookout for future networking opportunities on our website throughout the year. If your organization would like to host a future event, please contact email@example.com for details.
On April 24th ACHENJ will host a CEO Roundtable at Rutgers University, New Brunswick campus. This is an excellent opportunity for early and mid-careerists to speak with current and former Chief Executive Officers in an informal give and take about their respective careers in the healthcare field. Attendees are encouraged to ask the executives for insights into how they developed and enhanced their careers; and, where they see today's opportunities.
Our annual meeting will take place at the Hackensack Meridian Health / Seton Hall University Medical School on Tuesday, June 5th. This brand new medical school is slated to start its very first cohort of students in July 2018. Bob Garrett, Hackensack Meridian Co-CEO, will be the keynote speaker at this event. The chapter is extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to host this event in this newly remodeled state-of-the-art medical education facility. Tickets for this event and the CEO Roundtable are available on the ACHENJ website (http://ahenj.ache.org/).
On a final note, the ACHENJ board year ends on May 31. At that time I will transition to Immediate Past President and Alex Puma will begin serving as chapter President. I would like to welcome Alex will support him in his new role as President. I look forward to supporting the new board in my upcoming role as chapter Immediate Past President.
During my time as President (and President-Elect) I have had the privilege to work with many talented and dedicated individuals on the board, in the committees, and in the general membership. I am truly grateful to have served as President for ACHENJ and would like to thank everyone for their contributions and support to the chapter.
