West Receives Regent’s Award
Warren K. West, FACHE, President and CEO of Littleton Regional Healthcare was awarded the ACHE New Hampshire Regent’s Award. The award is given to a senior-level healthcare executive who demonstrates leadership, innovation and creative management. Mr. West has served in a variety of advocacy and leadership roles across New Hampshire in addition to his post at LRH, including but not limited to the serving on the recent MET commission and as a member of the NHHA board. In addition, Mr. West has led the healthcare community in northern Grafton County through collaboration and with the goal of providing a sustainable healthcare system in the North County. He continues to mentor young executives and is very involved in the local community. It was a great privilege to bestow this prestigious award to a healthcare leader that has modeled the values of ACHE for so many years. Please join me in congratulating Warren on this well-deserved honor.
NNEAHE Annual Meeting a Big Success
The Northern New England chapter of ACHE held its annual meeting on November 14-15, 2013 at the Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, Vermont. The event was once again a huge success offering six (6) Face-to-Face credits on Thursday and the first ever daylong Board of Governors study group course. In addition, more than 100 healthcare executives from across Northern New England attended Friday’s education and networking sessions including 20 UNH Health Management and Policy students. Friday’s educational offerings included six different engaging and relevant subjects including a riveting keynote speaker that had everyone laughing and on the edge of their seat.
This year’s annual meeting concluded the two year commitment to hosting the annual meeting in Vermont. Stay tuned for next year’s event in Portland, Maine. The Chapter Board plans to rotate the meeting each year in a different state moving forward.
ACHE Job Bank Open to Entry Level and Middle Level Positions
Most members often think the ACHE job bank is just for positions you wish to attract a national reach and that is indeed a great use of the resource. That being said, the job bank is also an excellent way to promote and screen local and regional positions as well. With more and more younger members, early careerists and mid-level executives joining ACHE, the job bank is the perfect resource for today’s tech-savvy executive. It will also reinforce to members that ACHE is committed to helping its members through career transitions and growth!
Take Your Favorite ACHE Publications With You
All three of ACHE’s publications—Frontiers of Health Services Management, Healthcare Executive magazine and the Journal of Healthcare Management—are available through the ACHE Publications App. An added benefit for members and subscribers only, the app does not replace the print editions. It provides an enhanced experience for readers by delivering interactive digital versions of each ACHE publication. Apply for a Tuition Waiver
To reduce the barriers to ACHE educational programming for ACHE members experiencing economic hardship, ACHE has established the Tuition Waiver Assistance Program.
ACHE makes available a limited number of tuition waivers to ACHE Members and Fellows whose organizations lack the resources to fund their tuition for education programs. Members and Fellows in career transition are also encouraged to apply. Tuition waivers are based on financial need and are available for the following ACHE education programs:
- Congress on Healthcare Leadership
- Cluster Seminars
- Self-Study Programs
- Online Education Programs
- Online Tutorial (Board of Governors Exam preparation)
- ACHE Board of Governors Exam Review Course
All requests are due no less than eight weeks before the program date, except for ACHE self-study courses; see quarterly application deadlines on the FAQ page of the tuition waiver application. Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Recipients will be notified of the waiver review panel's decision not less than six weeks before the program date. For ACHE self-study courses, applicants will be notified three weeks after the quarterly application deadline.
