Message from Your ACHE Regent- Vermont: Fall 2016

Message from Your ACHE Regent
Fall 2016

Good day fellow ACHE colleagues,

While my official work duties have me focused on New Hampshire these days, I had a great opportunity this past week to spend time in Vermont with colleagues from Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire at the Northern New England Association for Healthcare Executives (NNEAHE) Annual Meeting at the StoweFlake Inn and Resort in Stowe, VT.

The meeting was well attended (as usual) with approximately 100 NNEAHE and ACHE members partaking of two great opportunities.  Day One provided six Face-to-Face credits with an ACHE On-Location Program titled “Reaching Excellence in Patient Experience,” and Day Two provided an opportunity to attend the NNEAHE 2016 Annual Meeting.

During this year’s Annual Meeting, we elected new Officers for the coming year, discussed legislative issues within all three Northern New England States, heard from Charles “Chuck” D. Stokes, FACHE, ACHE Chairman-Elect and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Memorial Hermann Health System, on association efforts and learned from a panel of local experts on Integrating the Principles of Patient Centered Care in our organizations.  Once again, the meeting was a wonderful blend of networking, learning and engagement for all ACHE members.

For those of you not in attendance, I ask that you join me in thanking Karen Clements, RN, FACHE, Chief Nursing Officer at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, for her tremendous efforts over the past two years as your NNEAHE President.   Her leadership has enabled all the members of NNEAHE to benefit from a strong ACHE chapter during this time.

Sincerely,

Kevin W. Donovan, FACHE
