Message from Your Vermont ACHE Regent - Summer 2017/Fall 2017

Message from Your ACHE Regent
Summer 2017

With summer half over and fall too rapidly approaching, I want to bring to your attention two great education opportunities with opportunities for ACHE Qualified Educational Credits. From September 20-22, 2017, the Annual VAHHS (Vermont Association of Hospital and Healthcare Systems) Meeting entitled Positive Disruption: Opportunities Ahead will be held at Jay Peak Resort. Our ACHE breakfast on 9/22 will feature a panelist discussion on Mental Health Innovation and includes leaders from the Department of Mental Health, the VA Medical Center and Brattleboro Retreat.  For more information on the conference please contact Brigitte Walbridge at (802) 223-3461 x101 or via email Brigitte@vahhs.org. You can also view the entire program as well as register for this event at www.vahhs.org/2017-am.html.  I encourage all Vermont ACHE members to make an effort to join us at this spectacular setting for this great event!

Looking further ahead, the Annual NNEAHE (Northern New England Association of Healthcare Executives) Meeting has been scheduled for Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Cliff House located in Ogunquit, ME. The themes for this year’s meeting are Care Coordination and Patient Throughput. More specific information will be forthcoming!
Both of these events and their topics are incredibly timely as we proceed down the road of health reform, new payment models and significant uncertainty at the Federal level. Our Vermont  ACHE Members are incredibly active in improving patient access and outcomes as well as leading our State’s efforts in reform. Thank you for all your efforts and I am proud and honored to be part of this Team.  Please encourage other members of your organization to join the ACHE Team! I look forward to seeing you at these upcoming meetings.
