Regent's Message / Regent's Award

Auld Lang Syne is often sung at New Year’s celebrations.  It literally means, “old long ago.” In modern times it is better known as “times gone by.”  As we reflect on the past yearm, the ACHE - Nevada Chapter has benefited from the commitment and dedication from several Chapter members/Board members that have served consistently over the past several years.  One of these members is our Chapter President, David J. Schweer, FACHE, who is the recent recipient of the Regent’s Award.

The Regent’s Award recognizes outstanding healthcare executives meeting specific criteria including:

A Fellow of ACHE

Demonstration of leadership ability

Demonstration of innovative and creative management

Participation in civic/community activities and projects

Demonstration of participation in ACHE activities and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

Dave has been a member of ACHE since 1990.  Dave has held a variety of leadership position including Regent, Secretary, and is just finishing two terms as Chapter President.  Dave is also one of the founders of the very successful Nevada Health Care Forum, a joint collaboration between the Nevada Chapters of ACHE, HFMA, HIMSS, and MGMA.  He also has been active in HFMA and other professional organizations.

2016 brings great opportunity to build upon the firm foundation of our Chapter.  As you make your New Year’s resolutions, decide to get involved in YOUR Chapter, achieve Fellow status, attend a Chapter Event, attend Congress!  We have an opportunity this year to take our Chapter to “the next level.”  Your involvement is paramount to our ability to provide you with a meaningful ACHE - Nevada Chapter experience!  Please send Jeremy Bradshaw, our incoming Chapter President ( Dave Schweer ( or or me ( your ideas and suggestions!

Wishing each of you and your families a very happy, healthy, active and involved 2017!

Cindy Johnson, MHA, FACHE
