Regent News

Greetings ACHE members in Oklahoma,

At the recent ACHE Regents Leadership Conference and ACHE Convocation held in Chicago, Illinois on March 12 & 13, 2016, ACHE welcomed in person over 90 new Fellows.  While there were over 500 new Fellows in ACHE, 90 participated in Convocation.  If you never participated in Convocation when you received your Fellow designation, it is quite a memorable experience.

Once the National Anthems from Canada and the United States are sung, invocations are completed, introductions are announced, the Pledge and Conferral of Fellow Status begins.  For those of you who have not recited our Fellow Pledge recently, here it is to remind you:

Fellow Pledge

As a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives I pledge to:
• Abide by its Code of Ethics;
• Contribute to the advancement of our profession by exemplifying competence and leadership in healthcare management;
• Commit to lifelong learning by maintaining a personal program of continuing education; (pause)
• Contribute to the improvement of my community’s health status;
• Enhance our profession through leadership in a wide range of community and professional activities;
• Uphold and further the mission of the American College of Healthcare Executives to advance healthcare leadership and management excellence.
The ACHE Governors and Regents are dressed in cap and gowns and are seated on a stage to welcome and acknowledge the accomplishments of new Fellows.  The new Fellows are also gowned and capped.  Each new Fellow proudly walks across the stage when their name is called, receives their ACHE pin and shakes the hands of both the current ACHE Chairman of Board of Governors, Edward H.  Lamb, FACHE and the President/CEO of ACHE, Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE.  One new Fellow from Oklahoma came to Convocation, Joshua Tucker, FACHE, Mercy Hospital Logan County.

This is ACHE’s 82nd Convocation and many diverse Fellows were acknowledged.  These Fellows came from many of the U.S. States, the Army, the Navy, Veteran Affairs, Indonesia and Singapore.

In Oklahoma, we have over 450 members and 33 percent are Fellows.  We are proud to represent ACHE in the state of Oklahoma and are carrying on ACHE strategic focus and priorities by delivering valuable education and networking opportunities locally to our members and students as well as other healthcare executives.  Please mark your calendars for April 28 Face-to-Face education in Midwest City at the Sheraton.  Hope to see you all there.

If you would like to be more involved in Sooner Healthcare Executives, the Oklahoma ACHE Chapter, please contact me at or the President of Sooner Healthcare Executives, Samuel C. McAdams, FACHE at

Enjoy Spring 2016 in Oklahoma.
