Active LPCs

Your Local Program Councils (LPCs) in the Coastal Bend and Rio Grande Valley are active in providing Face-to-Face Educational Events, Philanthropic Volunteer participation endeavors, and networking for the folks in their respective communities.   These events are open to all ACHE members, but focus on providing small/no travel and low cost opportunities for local ACHE members, students, and interested non-ACHE members in their respective areas.

The Coastal Bend LPC provided a superb 1.5 Credit Face-to-Face Educational Event, held at the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi campus, on April 25, 2019.  Eighty or so attendees were provided an excellent panel discussion on Community Public Health Needs.  There were also great audience questions and comments.  Plus a super meal. The Coastal Bend LPC's excellent chair is Krystal O'Brien.  Her email is: KrystalOBrien@dchstx.org.

The Rio Grande Valley LPC is planning a Face-to-Face Educational Event to be held at Harlingen Medical Center (hosted by Letty Mann) on Friday, August 9th, from 11:00am until 3:00pm, with lunch break from 12:30-1:30.  There are two separate 1 1/2 hour panels planned.  The first panel topic will be:  "The Future of Healthcare Financing."  The second panel topic (beginning at 1:30) will be: "Understanding Implicit Bias and Its Impact on Healthcare Leadership."  The RGV LPC is superbly chaired by Rashmi Chandran. Her email address is:  RashmiChandran@ernest.onmicrosoft.com.

Both LPCs are always in search of local folks to serve on their respective planning committees. Participation on these are most self-rewarding, provide a service to the local community, and meets ACHE Member Requirements for Volunteer Service. Please consider this service.
