ACHE of the Triad - Spring 2016 (Plain Text Version)
Greetings and Happy Spring ACHE of the Triad Members!
Student Associate: Keith Jones
We were fortunate to have two very qualified recipients of our student scholarship, awarded last November, and as part of receiving the scholarship, the students are required to serve a one-year term on the board. We are very excited to have Beth and Keith joining us this year!
I mentioned that we are in full swing planning our education events this year - Barbara Wolfe and the Education Committee have been very busy planning a slate of educational opportunities aimed at providing you with the ability to earn a total of 7.5 ACHE Face-to-Face credits throughout the course of this year. Our first education program was held on March 22, with a panel discussion on Telemedicine in the Healthcare Delivery System. We had about 25 people in attendance for this engaging discussion with several local experts on this emerging topic. Our next event is planned for Thursday, May 26, and will be our second annual Spring Summit, featuring two panel discussions on the topics of Diversity & Inclusion and Successfully Leading Multigenerational Organizations. We will begin at 10 am and end by 3 pm, with lunch included. Please mark your calendars for the day and plan to join us! We are planning two more programs for late September and early November as well.
We know networking is important to our membership and we will be planning several networking events throughout the year to provide you with additional opportunities to connect with your colleagues in a more relaxed setting. One opportunity we are exploring is holding a golf tournament in the fall to raise proceeds to benefit a local charitable organization. It is important to us to provide opportunities that our members are interested in, so to help us make the decision about whether to move forward with this idea, please email me (Katy.Davis@conehealth.com) and let me know if you are interested in playing in a golf tournament planned by this chapter and/or if you are interested in helping to plan the tournament. Please reach out to me with your interest by April 15.
To support all of our membership engagement efforts, we rely on contributions from sponsors. Sponsorship of our chapter can take several forms - we offer everything from single event sponsorship to multiple levels of year-long sponsorship. A number of these opportunities still exist for 2016. Please reach out to me if your organization is interested in sponsoring us - your support allows us to provide greater benefit for all our members!
As I conclude this message, I have to express my heartfelt appreciation to Garry Kauffman, our 2015 president. Under his leadership, our chapter was able to provide greater value to our members through expanded educational and networking opportunities. Our goal every year is to increase the value we provide to our members and Garry has set the bar high! As a token of our appreciation for Garry's commitment to our chapter and to ACHE throughout his career, our chapter is making a donation to the ACHE Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership in Garry's name. Garry, thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do!
I'm looking forward to a great year with ACHE of the Triad. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with ideas for how we can better serve our members!
