Golf Outing, Panel Discussions Highlight Spring Events

There are a variety of UHE activities taking place this spring that you will want to be sure and mark your calendars to attend.

UHE Breakfast Panel in St. George: In conjunction with the Utah Hospital Association's Spring Meeting, a breakfast panel discussion on healthcare policy advocacy will take place Friday, April 26, 7-8:30 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in St. George. The program will be moderated by UHA lobbyist Dave Gessel and feature remarks from Greg Poulsen, Senior Vice President for Strategy, Intermountain Healthcare, and Natalie Gochnour, COO of the Salt Lake Chamber. Everyone is welcome to attend this event but registration is required. Please contact Cherie at UHE, uhe.ache@gmail.com, if you plan to attend.

Golf Tournament: UHE is joining with Weber State University Health Administrative Services to host a golf tournament to support networking among healthcare executives and students of health administration at Weber State University. Proceeds from the event will benefit health administration students through scholarships or funding of professional development activities. The tournament will take place Friday, May 3 at Glen Eagle Golf Course in Syracuse. Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30. Lunch is also included in the foursome price of $275. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information or to register, contact Shari Love at Weber State, slove@weber.edu.

May Panel Discussion: UHE is hosting a luncheon panel discussion on Wednesday, May 22, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City. The topic, Care for the Uninsured and Underinsured, will discuss the challenges of providing care to the 46 million Americans without health insurance. Moderating the topic is Alan Pruhs, Executive Director for the Association for Utah Community Health. He will be joined by panelists Allan Ainsworth, MD, University of Utah, and Marc Babitz, MD, Utah Department of Health. RSVP by Thursday, May 15 to Cheri Davis at uhe.ache@gmail.com.
