Judy was named the Administrator for Layton Hospital in June 2015. The hospital opened in October 2018, giving her the opportunity to be involved in design, construction, opening and now operations. Prior to opening Layton Hospital, Judy was the Nurse Administrator at Riverton Hospital at opening and for the following 6 years. Judy started her career with Intermountain Healthcare as an RN at Primary Children’s Hospital in 1997 and has also worked at St. George Regional Hospital as the Director for Women and Children Services.
Judy was born and raised in London, Ontario, Canada, where her family still resides. She earned her Nursing Diploma in Canada, prior to moving to Utah after graduating. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and her MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Colorado.
Judy’s passion is to be a mentor to others looking to take the leap from the bedside into leadership. She is currently working on her application to become a Fellow of ACHE. Her goal is to become more actively engaged in our local UHE chapter.
Judy and her husband Jim enjoy time in the outdoors. You can find them most weekends in the mountains snowshoeing, running, hiking, biking or camping with their goldendoodle named Juba. Judy is also the step-mom to 2 amazing children Taylor 29, and Noble 26.
Judy enjoys being a member of ACHE and feels it is a valuable resource as a Healthcare Leader. She believes conference is always a great opportunity to hear from a diverse group from across the nation with varying perspectives on the current and future state of healthcare. Judy looks forward to having the time and opportunity to engage more with ACHE as well as getting to know more of the local UHE chapter personally.
