Jim Marshall, MBA

Jim Marshall has served as President and CEO of Uintah Basin Healthcare since 2014.  Over the last eight years, Jim has led the mission to improve access to healthcare services and specialties across the Uintah Basin believing that proximity and availability to high quality healthcare service will improve the overall health of our community.  Most recently, Jim has led the addition of a Cancer Care and Infusion Center, Would Care and Hyperbaric Medicine as well as UFitness, a community Fitness and Therapy center.

Prior to his time at UBH, Jim was most recently the President of CHI Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND and formerly the CEO of Sakakawea Medical Center in Hazen, ND. Prior to his time in ND, Jim worked as the Director of Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care Clinics for CHRISTUS Schumpert Health System in Shreveport, LA.

Jim earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Centenary College of Louisiana’s Frost School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree from Brigham Young University Idaho.  Jim believes in furthering your education outside of your industry as well, as such he has become a private pilot since joining UBH and is currently enrolled in a certificate welding program at the local technical college.  Each industry is unique and different from healthcare but there is much that we can learn in terms of best practices of quality and safety that can be applied to healthcare.

Jim believes that membership in the ACHE has been valuable in helping to stay current in healthcare trends and best practices, and a great resource for peer networking and professional development.  Jim recommends ACHE to many of his organizations’ leaders to help them further their industry knowledge and reach their career goals.

On a personal note, Jim enjoys spending time with his family, aviation, camping, fly fishing, snowboarding, biking, and welding.
