President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

It's hard to believe we are already through the first quarter of the year! As your president for 2018, I have been excited to field inquires from the members on education, involvement and advancement. I cannot express how thrilled I am over the engagement of our membership in recent years. In fact, the chapter was just recognized with the Award of Chapter Merit for this past year - acknowledging that we met a standard of excellence set by ACHE.

Our membership has continued to grow into the new year including new faculty members and an upsurge in student membership. We have continued to add Higher Education Networks to our chapter - official announcements will be coming soon. Over the last year, we identified that we have over 100 early careerists in our chapter. So we have made the decision to continue with our Next Generation in Leadership Seminars. These will be offered for free to ACHE members and at a nominal cost to non-members. We hope that this will help engage those who are not yet at the point in their career where they are seeking credits towards fellowship.

We will again be taking part in the Women's Leadership Conference with HFMA (April 26th) as well as in the 5th Annual Western PA Healthcare Summit (Oct 19th). We are excited to continue to collaborate with our sister organizations in the area to provide the best education and networking possible. Additional education will be offered throughout the year in 1.5 credit segments. We hope this will allow some of our busier members to find time to join us for education and discussion. Stay tuned for dates to follow.

Many members have reached out to inquire how they can become more involved. Our advancement and sponsorship committees are still seeking some additional members, so if this piques your interest, please reach out for more information.

As always, if you have suggestions for the Chapter, do not hesitate to reach out and contact us. This Chapter succeeds because of the incredible people and organizations that are a part of it. Your voice and needs drive us to innovation every year. Let's see what this year holds in store for us and remember - if you can join us at just one event over the course of the year, you'll be making an impact.
