DEVELOPMENT AND CAREER
ACHE Tuition Waiver Assistance Program

To reduce the barriers to ACHE educational programming for ACHE members experiencing economic hardship, ACHE has established the Tuition Waiver Assistance Program.

ACHE makes available a limited number of tuition waivers to ACHE Members and Fellows whose organizations lack the resources to fund their tuition for education programs. Members and Fellows in career transition are also encouraged to apply. Tuition waivers are based on financial need and are available for the following ACHE education programs:

  • Congress on Healthcare Leadership
  • Cluster Seminars
  • Self-Study Programs
  • Online Education Programs
  • Online Tutorial (Board of Governors Exam preparation)
  • ACHE Board of Governors Exam Review Course

All requests are due no less than eight weeks before the program date, except for ACHE self-study courses; see quarterly application deadlines on the FAQ page of the tuition waiver application. Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Recipients will be notified of the waiver review panel's decision not less than six weeks before the program date. For ACHE self-study courses, applicants will be notified three weeks after the quarterly application deadline.

If you have questions about the program, please contact Teri Somrak, associate director, Division of Professional Development, at (312) 424-9354 or tsomrak@ache.org. For more information, visit ache.org/TuitionWaiver.

Upcoming Events

We have a number of events planned for 2016 and more are coming!

WSHEF welcomes new Puget Sound Chapter of the Asian Healthcare Leaders Forum (AHLF) to the region!

In February of 2016, the American College of Healthcare Executives launched the Asian Healthcare Leaders Forum (AHLF) as a community within ACHE as a part of their ongoing commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in healthcare leadership.  AHLF aims to increase representation of Asian-Americans in healthcare management through professional development, continual learning, mentorship, and networking. Any ACHE member can join AHLF by going to http://www.ache.org/newclub/forums/AHLF/index.cfm and submitting a short online application. Forum annual dues fees are $100.

Please contact Paul Myoung at paul.myoung@swedish.org for more information about AHLF, a list of current AHLF members, signing up for the AHLF newsletter, and ways to become involved in the local Puget Sound Chapter.

AHLF and WSHEF are planning a welcome, education and networking event for November of 2016.  Be on the lookout for an email invitation with more details in the coming weeks!
