President's Message

2020 continues to be an incredibly challenging time for our communities.  The impact of the pandemic has built an extraordinary level of resilience across Washington State healthcare’s landscape.  Copious issues and events have tested our perseverance and may continue to do so as the weather cools and winter turns our way.  At WSHEF, we have pivoted entirely to virtual support for our members and are extremely excited to announce a new slate of educational events, with even more in the planning phases.  Building off the incredible educational precedence ACHE National through the Covid-19 Resource Center, we are presenting the following virtual educational opportunities:

ACHE Faculty Member – Choice Programs

Dr. James Austin heads JH Austin Associates Inc., Chicago, where he combines business strategy and organizational development theory with extensive industry experience to guide organizations. He is also an adjunct senior lecturer at Brown University, Providence, R.H., in the Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership program, and a faculty member at Duke Corporate Education, headquartered in Durham, N.C. Mr. Austin is a lecturer/consultant at the Aresty Institute of Executive Education in the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, where he tailors and delivers senior-level seminars on strategy, strategic execution, scenario planning and critical thinking at a number of leading companies. Mr. Austin is a former senior executive at Baxter Healthcare.

WSHEF has transitioned the Meet and Mingle social networking events to virtual happy hours where we are hosted and facilitated by our wonderful programming team in association with a WSHEF Board Member or an esteemed guest.  The social networking opportunities are held via Zoom and are scheduled through the remainder of 2020 (register early @ http://wshef.ache.org/events/):

·      Wednesday, November 18 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

WSHEF Board and Office elections are currently in process as we seek to fill five board seats and elect a new President-Elect. Please look for the ballot distributed by email and remember to vote by Oct 9th!
