WSHEF President's Message

Greetings WSHEF Members,

I am very excited to have the pleasure of serving all of you as WSHEF President this year.  Thank you so much to Brian Barry for his incredible leadership last year.  He did an outstanding job during a very difficult time with the pandemic!  Also, thank you to each and every one of you for working tirelessly over the past 15 months.  Days. Nights. Weekends.  All time away from your friends and family as you serve our healthcare community. Thank you so much for all that you continue to do every day.  Below are some updates on our Board, upcoming events, and other items.

Events

We had a very productive board retreat in January and discussed updates to our strategic plan, had updates from each of our committees, brainstormed goals and action items for the year, and focused on planning for numerous virtual events given the pandemic.

Our Programs Committee and co-chairs Heidi Murdock (Schaiberger) and Dylan Blackburn have done an outstanding job planning virtual events for our members this year.  Please continue to check our website for updates, but here are a few upcoming events.  Also, hopefully many of you are attending ACHE’s (virtual) Congress 3/22-3/25!  I am very excited to attend that for the first time, and have always heard outstanding things about it.

Upcoming Events – WSHEF (ache.org)

UW MHA/WSHEF Virtual Networking during Congress! - March 23 5:00-6:30p

Coffee with our Regent Karin – April 16 12:00-1:00p

Meet & Mingles (Virtual)

Board Member Town Hall - April 21 5:30-7:00pm

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - May 19 5:30 - 7:00pm

Telehealth - June 16 5:30 - 7:00pm

The Board continues to be in close contact with ACHE regarding future plans on events, extending virtual events for F2F credit, etc.  Please stay tuned for more information on that, as they continue to evaluate details as things evolve with the pandemic.

Staying Connected

While I am optimistic about us getting back to our “new” normal and more in-person events, one of my primary objectives this year is for the Board to stay connected with our members during this difficult time in our virtual environment.  Please note that we are here for you to help any way possible.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me (pcorbin@uw.edu) if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or would just like to have a “meet & greet!”

Stay Well,

Parke
