WSHEF President's Message

Greetings WSHEF Members,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this HOT weather we are having (my house was 90 degrees inside!!)!  The WSHEF Board would like to thank you for all that you continue to do every day as we start to return to our new normal!  I am optimistic that we will continue on that trend as the state opens up very soon.  The light is at the end of the tunnel!  Please see below for updates on upcoming events and membership opportunities.

Upcoming Events & Update on Face To Face (F2F) Events

We will be having our next Board retreat on July 19th and updating our strategic plan for the next 18 months.  We are having a lot of great discussions about our events for the next year, including cautiously planning to have more in-person events by early 2022.  Please continue to check our website for updates, but here are a few upcoming events. Upcoming Events – WSHEF (ache.org)

Supply Chain (F2F Credits)
– July 15th 5:30-7:00p

F2F Events (Times and Dates TBD)

August - Sustainability

September - Social Determinants

WSHEF Annual Breakfast
- November 18th 7:30- 9:30 am, Topic TBD

Meet & Mingles (Virtual)

              Palliative Care – July 21st 5:30-7:00p
              Quality & Value Based Care
– August 18th 5:30-7:00p
              Networking event
– September 15th 5:30-7:00p

The Board continues to be in constant contact with ACHE regarding future plans on events, extending virtual events for F2F credit, etc.  As of now, they have extended F2F credits for virtual events through September 2021.  We will keep you posted as ACHE continues to evaluate our options as things evolve.  We will very likely continue to facilitate virtual events, even after we bring back more F2F events, due to them being so successful and members really appreciating the opportunity to network across the state.

Regents Advisory Council (RAC)

WSHEF is excited to share an update and announce a new naming convention for the Champions Network!

Historically, the Champions Network has been a bi-directional advisory panel for the Membership Committee meeting on a quarterly cadence to not only support ACHE strategic goals but foster engagement and sustainment of membership for our state chapter. New WA ACHE members are engaged with members of this panel to connect, explore interests and provide the linkage to events and or committees and/or activities within our jurisdiction.

In an opportunity to align with ACHE nationally, the WSHEF Champions Network received permission for renaming as the WA ACHE Regents Advisory Council (RAC). Members of this council who support this important role support the following roles and in return, will be credited within the ACHE Recognition Program.

The function of the RAC is to:

Provide advice to the Regent on matters of ACHE policy

Promote the interests of all ACHE members represented by the Regent in the services and operations of local ACHE chapters

Coordinate the activities of local ACHE chapters, Higher Education Network participants and other healthcare organizations to promote the mission of ACHE

Thank you to all of our RAC volunteers below who remain active and engaged in this important aspect of healthcare leadership!

Get Involved

If you have been looking for opportunities to meet other healthcare executives or get more involved in chapter activities, we are looking for volunteers to help with our Program, Membership & Advancement, and Communications Committees.  This could include helping plan an upcoming event or activity, or a commitment to join the committee long term.  Please let me know if you are interested, and we would be happy to discuss opportunities further.

Staying Connected / Please Provide Feedback

While we continue to connect virtually, please feel free to reach out to me and/or any of our great Board members and committee chairs to share feedback on how we are doing, how we can better serve you, topics for educational opportunities, or would just like to connect!  Enjoy the great summer weather.  Please do not forget to take some time out for yourself to get some R&R and recharge!

Stay Well.
