WSHEF President's Message

Season’s Greetings WSHEF Members,

I cannot thank you enough for all that you continue to do during these challenging times. We are all learning and adjusting to how to move forward in our “new normal.”  I hope you are able to spend time with friends and family and get some well-deserved R&R this holiday season.

Looking Back on 2021

Over the past year the WSHEF Board has done excellent work to ensure that we continue to have numerous educational and networking opportunities for you. These were all virtual, but please stay tuned for upcoming events over the next year as we plan to have some in-person events, including an annual conference and our monthly meet & mingles.

As part of our events, we have continued to expand our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming over the past year, thanks to the great leadership of Dylan Blackburn.  We are honored to have received ACHE’s “Regent At Large” Award for these efforts.  Speaking of awards, congratulations to the great leaders below for winning our Regent and Chapter Service Awards this year!

2021 Regent’s Award Winners

Dylan Blackburn – Business Operations Specialist, MultiCare Medical Associates

Parke Corbin, FACHE – Director-Budget & Planning, Shared Services, UW Medicine

Last but definitely not least, we have heard all of your valuable feedback regarding our chapter name, and are very excited to share that we are working with ACHE’s national office on changing our name from WSHEF to Washington State Chapter of ACHE!!  We will keep you posted on our progress of this change, including new logo, etc.

Thank You Sue Miller!

A very quick thank you to Sue Miller for all that she has done for WSHEF! She will be stepping away from the Board, and has done tremendous work the past several years including serving as our Secretary and playing a vital role on our Communications Committee! Thank you for all that you have done for WSHEF and our members Sue, and we wish you the very best!

Thank You & Happy Holidays!

As I am handing off the baton to Val on 1/1, I would like to thank President-Elect Val Chrusciel, Past President Brian Barry, Secretary Melissa Moran-Hodge, Treasurer Ryan Sundquist, our Regent Karin Larson-Pollock, all of our great Board of Directors and Committee Chairs, and our fabulous administrative team member Sally Cheyne.  It was a pleasure working with all of you this past year and being a part of the tremendous work that you all do!!
