American College of Surgeons:  Inspiring Quality

Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

As our nation grapples with how to sustain its commitment to its citizens with regard to the delivery of high-quality health care, the American College of Surgeons wants the President, Congress, health care leaders, and the public to know that common ground can be found.  The College has proven ways to improve care and reduce costs, and has highlighted its approach in a two-minute video that was released to the public on April 13.  The video is just one piece of the Inspiring Quality initiative, which is intended to drive awareness of the critical elements needed in quality programs to offer the best chance of achieving that goal and transforming our health care system.  The Commission on Cancer’s Accreditation Program is featured prominently in the initiative.

The College does not view health care as a partisan issue and wants to work with the Administration, Congress, and the nation’s health care leaders to implement workable solutions that both improve care and reduce costs.  We invite all Commission on Cancer constituents to view this video and pass it on to as many people you know who care about preserving the best in American health care.

You can learn more about the Inspiring Quality Initiative on the College website at http://www.facs.org/quality/.
