EPA/Corps Release New Clean Water Rule Proposal

Photo courtesy of EPA.On December 11, AGC attended the official unveiling of a newly proposed joint U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers clean water rule that will ultimately replace the controversial 2015 Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. AGC has been advocating for a new clean water rule that provides contractors and project sponsors with a clear understanding of when a federal permit is needed without hiring a team of consultants; and one that excludes ditches and other stormwater control features from federal jurisdiction.  For more details on the rule, click here  Read More

Leadership Conference in Downtown LA
 

California’s first annual Leadership conference had over 60 attendees November 29th-30th 2018 with twenty AGC members representing with their future leaders. It kicked off with a job site tour of the USC Memorial Coliseum. The tour was a top to bottom experience with insight given on the construction of new luxury suites, seating for the entire stadium, and even allowed the conference to go on the field. Moments after this photo was taken it poured rain on the attendees, a rare occurrence for us lately in southern California.  Read More

The Builders' Association/AGC Kansas City Chapter
Kansas City CLC Builds Playground for Families in Transition
 
On the morning of Saturday, October 20, the CLC, armed with shovels, rakes, pitchforks, wheelbarrows, and work gloves, mobilized to an 80 square foot playground site in Avondale, a small community located just north of Cerner’s world headquarters in North Kansas City, Missouri. Their mission: to help complete a community service project for Hilcrest Hope, a non-profit organization which helps displaced families move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
