As demand for construction in most parts of the country continues to expand and the number of unemployed construction workers hits record low levels, AGC of America and Autodesk are working to better quantify where these shortages are taking place, how severe they are, and what steps firms are taking to both cope with tight labor markets and improve the supply of new, qualified workers. AGC of South Dakota
Rapid City Chapter Up and Running!

One of AGC of South Dakota’s strategic goals for 2019 was to revive our Young Constructors (YC) group. AGC of SD’s Highway-Heavy-Utility and Building Chapters decided to team up and formally create the YC -  Rapid City Chapter. This group met in late spring to develop the strategies & structure of how the group will run. During this initial meeting, the Board of Directors was established and includes; President, Evan Walterman, Project Manager at RCS Construction, Vice-President Kasey Kurtz Co-President of Dean Kurtz Construction, Treasurer Chris Romanjenko, Project Engineer at Simon, and Secretary, Jake Rieffenberger, Pre-Construction Manager, at Scull Construction. This leadership group began forming an official structure to help pave the way for the organization.  Read More

New Master Subcontract & Project Work Order Contract Documents Released

The ConsensusDocs Coalition has just published the ConsensusDocs 755 Standard Master Subcontractor Agreement Between Constructor and Subcontractor and the ConsensusDocs 756 Standard Project Work Order Between Constructor and Subcontractors. These documents provide a more efficient method for Constructors/General Contractors/CMs to negotiate the legal terms and conditions with their Subcontractors once across multiple projects and allow field employees negotiate the work scope and price on additional small or large subcontract contracts without needing legal review to renegotiate the terms and conditions.
