AGC, EPA to Hold Conference Calls on Recycling White Paper and Toolkit

AGC, EPA to Hold Conference Calls on Recycling White Paper and Toolkit

You are invited to attend one or both of two conference calls in April 2008 that AGC has scheduled for AGC Environmental Network members to review and discuss a white paper and toolkit that are currently under development on industrial materials reduction, reuse, and recycling. AGC and the Office of Solid Waste at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are jointly writing the white paper and preparing resources specific to the construction industry to facilitate recycling and using recycled industrial materials.

Please make plans to participate in one or both of the calls scheduled for 3:30 to 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, April 17 and 3:30 to 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, April 24. There will be no charge for these calls, but Network members must RSVP to tomainom@agc.org to participate and receive the call-in number and instructions. In your RSVP, please specify on which date(s) you intend to call in.

On the first call, AGC will have guest speakers briefly showcase some of the tools and resources that are currently available to facilitate recycling efforts. Representatives from EPA also will be on the call. (Please note that AGC intends these calls to be “working discussions” rather than educational programs.) AGC will be looking for member input on ways to improve the white paper and on potential tools and case studies to feature in the toolkit. All participants will receive the draft white paper in advance of the calls in order to contribute more fully to the discussion. The discussions on both calls will be unique and dependant on member participation.

For more information or to RSVP, please contact AGC's Melinda Tomaino at tomainom@agc.org.
