AGC EXPANDS EFFORTS TO INCREASE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING
The House Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment will hold two days of hearings on financing water infrastructure projects on June 8 and June 14.

AGC supports efforts to create a trust fund to provide sustained funding for wastewater and drinking water infrastructure. AGC will support the Water Infrastructure Network activities by securing an outside expert on the Congressional support for trust fund financed infrastructure programs. Jack Schennendorf, former transportation committee veteran and an expert on Aviation and highway trust fund integrity and operations will present testimony on behalf of AGC.

The testimony will cover how trust funds operate and highlight how they facilitate the long-term planning that must go into addressing significant national infrastructure issues like dealing with the mounting wastewater and drinking water needs. He will testify on June 8 in a panel with noted pollster Frank Luntz. Luntz will discuss his survey pointing towards overwhelming public support for a drinking water and wastewater trust fund.
