JOIN THE PUSH FOR A CLEAN WATER TRUST FUND . . . ADD YOUR SUPPORT TO CLEAN WATER AMERICA
The Associated General Contractors of America recently partnered on a grassroots website, called Clean Water America (www.cleanwateramerica.org).  Clean Water America is dedicated to obtaining long-term, dedicated federal funding for the Nation’s clean water infrastructure via a trust fund, similar to those that exist for the Nation’s highways and airports. The Water Infrastructure Network, of which AGC is a founding member, is nearing introduction of its Clean Water Trust Act of 2005 and the Clean Water America website is the primary vehicle through which we are garnering individual and organizational support from coast-to-coast.

1. AGC is encouraging local chapters to join the more than 100 groups that have already signed on as “Supporting Organizations” of the Clean Water America effort. This involves no financial commitment.   A list of the over 100 organizations that have already signed on in support of this initiative can be viewed on the Clean Water America’s “About Us” web-page at http://www.cleanwateramerica.org/about/sponsors.cfm.

2. Furthermore, we ask that individual AGC members visit www.cleanwateramerica.org which will allow you to contact your Members of Congress individually as well as sign an online petition calling on Congress to make funding a national priority.

AGC and the Water Infrastructure Network thank you for your support of this key effort. It is critical that we now focus on this Nation’s most vital resource – its clean and safe water and the infrastructure that makes this possible.  Please contact Stu Megaw at megaws@agc.org if you require additional information.  Thank you.
