AGC PROMOTES CLEAN WATER TRUST FUND ON THE HILL

Recently, AGC took advantage of the Congressional recess to brief House legislative staff on the benefits of a trust fund to finance clean water projects.

The Clean Water Trust Act, (HR 4560) calls for nearly 38 billion dollars in funding for clean water projects over five years.   AGC Municipal & Utilities Division Director Stu Megaw spoke to over forty legislative staffers from around the country encouraging support and describing the economic, environmental and public health benefits to their constituents.  A larger briefing is planned for later this year when Congress reconvenes.  Megaw was joined on the panel by John Pawlow, Counsel to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  Other panelists represented coalition partners the Water Infrastructure Network (WIN), National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

For more information on Clean Water Trust Fund legislation or AGC’s work with the Water Infrastructure Network, contact Stu Megaw at 703/837-5321 or megaws@agc.org. [ return to top ]
